MUSIC BACKGROUND
Music was always in my blood, My mom is a singer and my dad is a self taught guitarist/singer. That definitely sparked my interest for music. Like my dad, I am a self taught musician as well. Music was always in my blood, My mom is a singer and my dad is a self taught guitarist/singer. That definitely sparked my interest for music. Like my dad, I am a self taught musician as well. In the late 80s, I grew up listening to various music that included: Michael Jackson, Lionel Ritchie, Stevie Wonder, Journey and many more. The 90s is where I discovered my favorite genre which was R&B. This is when my style formulated. My favorite R&B groups/artists included: BoyzllMen, Joe, Shai, Jodeci, KC&JoJo, 112, Usher, John Legend, Alicia Key, Blackstreet, believe it or not Backstreet Boys and many more. Like many R&B Musicians, I was easily influenced by Hip Hop. This is where things got interesting. I combined my producing skills with rapping. My favorite rappers growing up were: Tupac, Bone Thugs, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, E40, DMX, Onyx and Yukmouth. I spent my high school years in a crew called Hybrid Shine as a rapper/producer. As the years went by, I was able to teach myself how to play the piano along with self vocal training. This is where eventually I combined my piano skills with singing. While working to perfect my craft, I was very fortunate enough to share my talents on a public and private stage with countless gigs and many venues in the bay area that I've performed at. I have been playing and singing professionally for the past 15 years and counting.
